PATTAYA, Thailand – The Royal Thai Fleet has reaffirmed its full operational readiness to defend Thailand’s sovereignty, particularly amid rising tensions along the Thai-Cambodian border on Thursday. Admiral Jiraphon Wongwit, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy, delegated Admiral Natthaphon Diewwanich, Commander of the Royal Thai Fleet, to oversee a readiness inspection and deliver a formal address to naval combat units aboard HTMS Chakri Naruebet at Sattahip Naval Base.
The ceremony included senior naval officers and personnel from land, sea, and air operations, all emphasizing their shared commitment to protecting Thailand’s territorial integrity.
In response to the ongoing border dispute at Chong Bok in Ubon Ratchathani province, Admiral Natthaphon stressed that the Royal Thai Fleet stands prepared to deploy long-range task force operations—specialized units capable of proactive defense and rapid response, forming part of Thailand’s broader strategy for peaceful deterrence and readiness.
“We are not preparing for training. We are preparing for potential use of force, should national interests be threatened. All commanders must ensure their troops, vessels, and equipment are ready for immediate action,” the Fleet Commander stated.

Two Core Naval Combat Divisions Ready for Action:
Strike Vessel Division – Equipped to protect maritime transport routes, escort cargo and fishing vessels, and deny access to hostile naval forces. These ships have capabilities for tracking, engaging, and neutralizing threats at sea.
Amphibious Assault Division – Designed for rapid deployment of Royal Thai Marine units for joint operations with ground forces. These ships can support amphibious landings and integrated combat maneuvers.
The Long-Range Task Force, under the Royal Thai Fleet, has undergone extensive domestic and international training, including high-profile joint exercises such as Cobra Gold and Blue Strike, enhancing interoperability with global partners.
Naval air squadrons and special warfare units are also on standby, fully equipped to execute orders from higher command without delay.
As regional geopolitics continue to evolve, Thailand’s navy is signaling its readiness not just for defense—but for deterrence with strategic precision.
