After successfully launching over 400 real-time surveillance cameras accessible via the LINE OA: Pattaya Connect system, Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet (nicknamed Beer) is now preparing to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Royal Thai Police.The plan, discussed with the Region 2 Provincial Police Commander, focuses on expanding CCTV coverage and enhancing measures to track down wanted suspects. The goal is to strengthen safety and boost public confidence for both residents and tourists.Currently, citizens can already view traffic conditions, heavy rain, and flooding situations in real time through over 400 connected cameras across the city. The LINE OA: Pattaya Connect system saw particularly high engagement during Aprils Songkran festival, especially on April 19 (Wan Lai), when viewer numbers spiked into the hundreds of thousands.Still, not all feedback has been positive. Several residents have raised concerns about broken cameras and limited coverage in key areas like North Pattaya and Jomtien Beach. Others emphasized that lighting and illegal parking enforcement are just as important as camera visibility.
