Pattaya City Expats Club hosts inspiring talks on Personal Growth and Business Strategies

PATTAYA, Thailand – The Pattaya City Expats Club recently held a captivating meeting on July 30, 2025, featuring two dynamic speakers who shared their personal and professional journeys. The event highlighted themes of personal development, entrepreneurship, and practical business strategies, offering valuable insights to the attendees.
Gaz Collins, a mindset coach and entrepreneur, opened the session with a heartfelt account of his transformative journey over the past 15 years. Gaz candidly shared his experiences, from incarceration to becoming a successful mindset coach.
He emphasized three key principles for personal growth: welcoming obstacles, confronting fears, and investing in oneself. Gaz’s story of overcoming adversity, including a jail sentence and personal losses, underscored the importance of shifting focus from past pain to constructive actions. He also discussed his ventures in podcasting and coaching, encouraging the audience to embrace discomfort as a path to growth.
Erik Shaw, a digital marketing and project management expert, followed with a presentation on managing business projects in Thailand. Erik, who has worked in finance and technology sectors in Boston and Sydney, shared his experiences navigating Thai immigration bureaucracy and its parallels to digital marketing complexities. He stressed the importance of thorough planning and stakeholder management, using examples from his work with Agoda and a technical project for a Japanese client. Erik’s detail-oriented approach and use of checklists, inspired by the book The Checklist Manifesto, highlighted the significance of meticulous execution in achieving project success.
Their presentation concluded with a lively Q&A session, where Gaz and Erik addressed the challenges of entrepreneurship in Thailand. They emphasized the importance of networking, understanding visa regulations, and taking the leap despite fears and uncertainties.
