Thai Aviation Authority issues travel advisory amid border unrest, urges flight checks
Amid unrest, CAAT advises travelers to stay in contact with airlines and embassies, as carriers adjust schedules and aircraft to meet demand for returns from Cambodia.
BANGKOK, Thailand – The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand is advising travelers to stay updated on the situation along the Thailand–Cambodia border and to check their flight status regularly due to ongoing unrest.
Thai citizens planning to travel between the two countries are encouraged to closely follow guidance issued by the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh.
Travelers should also stay in contact with their airlines, as some carriers may switch to larger aircraft to accommodate increased demand for return flights to Thailand, especially during peak periods.
If you already have a ticket but need to change your travel dates or times, please contact your airline directly to confirm seat availability and review any applicable conditions for changes. Passengers are also reminded to have all necessary travel documents ready to help ensure a smooth check-in process and reduce airport congestion.
If you’re unable to reach the airport as scheduled, check with your airline for any available assistance measures or speak directly with airline staff for further guidance. (NNT)
