  • Late-night dispute on Pattaya Walking Street leaves Korean tourist injured in knife clash
    www.pattayamail.com
Korean tourist sustains knife wound during altercation near Walking Street in Pattaya. PATTAYA, Thailand – Emergency responders, in coordination with local police, rushed to assist Mr. Moqgyeom Moon, a 32-year-old South Korean national who suffered a deep laceration to his right hand. He was bleeding heavily from a knife wound sustained at the entrance of Soi 15/1 on Walking Street in South Pattaya. Rescue workers administered first aid and transported him to a nearby hospital. At the scene, a bloodied kitchen knife was discovered on a nearby street food cart, with visible blood splatters on the ground. According to Ms. Chopaka Donlakkham, 26, she and her sister had accompanied the Korean man for a night out in Pattaya. After drinking at a local entertainment venue, they stopped for a meal to sober up. Her sister had paid the bill up front, while Mr. Moon allegedly claimed he would reimburse her at his accommodation as he didn’t have cash on hand. Upon arriving at the room, however, he reportedly refused to pay, sparking a heated argument. Incident followed a dispute over unpaid expenses after a night out, says Thai witness. Ms. Chopaka began recording the altercation on her phone as Mr. Moon allegedly insulted and tried to prevent the women from leaving. Fearing for their safety, the group attempted to walk away. As they neared the entrance of the alley, the Korean man reportedly confronted them again. Out of fear, Ms. Chopaka grabbed a kitchen knife from a nearby Pad Thai cart to defend herself. During the scuffle, Mr. Moon tried to snatch the knife, resulting in a severe cut to his hand. Thawon Aksornphong, 30, the Pad Thai vendor, witnessed the incident and confirmed that the woman reached for the knife in self-defense. He stated that the Korean man aggressively grabbed for it and got injured. Mr. Moon then allegedly tried to attack Ms. Chopaka with a pair of scissors, but the vendor intervened just in time to prevent further harm. Pattaya Police later arrived on the scene and escorted Ms. Chopaka and the witness to the station for further questioning. Authorities will also take a statement from Mr. Moon after he recovers. Police have vowed to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure justice for both parties. A blood-stained kitchen knife was found on a nearby food cart, believed to have caused the injury during the heated altercation. Police continue investigating and will question all involved parties to ensure a fair legal process.

    www.pattayamail.com
Rescue workers treat two injured women after a brawl between a foreign man’s ex-wife and current partner in Jomtien. PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya Rescue Center received an emergency call reporting a violent quarrel at a beer bar in the Jomtien area. Rescue personnel and officers from Pattaya City Police Station were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, rescuers found two injured women: Ms. “Yu” (alias), 40, the ex-wife, and Ms. “Pha” (alias), 43, the current partner of a foreign man. Both women suffered serious facial injuries, including lacerations to the head and a broken nose, with blood covering their faces. Rescue volunteers provided first aid at the scene while bystanders tried to keep the situation from escalating further. The two women were later rushed to a nearby hospital for further treatment. At the scene, shards of broken glass bottles were scattered across the bar floor, indicating a violent struggle. Ms. Pha recounted that she saw her foreign husband drinking with his ex-wife and approached to greet them. However, the ex-wife allegedly struck her with a glass bottle without warning. The pair then left the bar and walked about 50 meters away. Ms. Pha followed in an attempt to retaliate, resulting in another scuffle until good Samaritans intervened and called authorities. Rescue workers transported both injured women to a hospital and advised them that, should they wish to press charges, they may file a formal complaint with Pattaya Police. Investigators plan to review CCTV footage to determine the facts and ensure justice for all parties involved. The fight, involving shattered bottles and head injuries, erupted in a local beer bar in Pattaya. One woman claims she was struck first after greeting her husband and his ex-wife, prompting a chaotic retaliation.   Police are investigating the incident and reviewing CCTV footage to ensure fairness for all sides.

  • Rising Tensions – Concern grows over hostile behavior from foreign drivers in Jomtien
    www.pattayamail.com
Residents report growing frustration with foreigners parking illegally around Jomtien. PATTAYA, Thailand – As Pattaya continues to welcome long-term visitors and tourists from around the world, some locals are expressing growing concern over what they describe as increasingly aggressive behavior from certain foreigners—particularly when it comes to traffic laws and public conduct. A concerned resident recently shared her experience involving illegal parking near Jomtien Soi 8 and Soi 9. According to her, she attempted to politely inform a foreign man that he was parked in a red-and-white no-parking zone, a violation of local traffic laws. Instead of complying or thanking her, the man reportedly became confrontational and snapped, “You’re not police!” before continuing to argue with her. “I was just trying to help,” the woman said. “But his tone was aggressive, like I had no right to speak up. It’s getting harder to feel safe. Some foreigners are no longer just rude—they’re openly hostile toward Thai people.” Local woman says she was verbally attacked for warning a foreign man about traffic violations. Her story has resonated with others online, especially in light of recent incidents involving erratic or violent behavior by foreign nationals in Pattaya, such as a recent case where a man was detained after brandishing scissors on Jomtien Beach. Local residents are now calling on city authorities to increase public awareness, enforce parking rules more strictly, and protect community members who speak up for the law. Many feel that respectful coexistence depends on mutual understanding, and that visitors should make an effort to follow the rules and treat locals with courtesy. While most foreigners in Pattaya contribute positively to the local economy and community, officials and citizens alike are becoming more aware of a small but growing pattern of tension—especially in popular tourist zones like Jomtien Beach. Calls increase for stricter enforcement and better understanding between communities.

  • Foreign man wielding scissors arrested after threatening tourists on Jomtien Beach
    www.pattayamail.com
Jomtien municipal officers and beach lifeguards restrain a foreigner who threatened tourists with scissors. PATTAYA, Thailand – Officials and lifeguards successfully detained a foreign man exhibiting violent and erratic behavior. The man was reportedly wielding scissors and attempting to assault tourists along Jomtien Beach. The incident took place in broad daylight and caused panic among beachgoers. The foreign national was swiftly restrained and handed over to officers at the Dongtan Curve substation of Pattaya City Police for legal processing. Eyewitness accounts and online comments revealed that the same man had been behaving strangely earlier in the day. One local reported, “This morning he was walking around yelling and pointing fingers at no one in particular, then sat in a restaurant talking to himself. It was very scary.” Another concerned citizen shared, “There’s a real issue with foreigners parking illegally around Jomtien Soi 8 and 9. When I tried to warn one that he couldn’t park in a red-and-white zone, he became aggressive and said, ‘You’re not police.’ It’s getting harder to feel safe as some foreigners are becoming increasingly hostile toward Thai people.” Others recounted encounters with the man the night before. “Around 2 AM I saw him at the 7-Eleven near Jomtien Second Road before the Bunkanjana intersection. He looked drunk and was talking to himself while staring people down—really scary.” Many expressed unease, saying they felt they were “vacationing in fear” due to unpredictable and aggressive behavior by certain tourists. The suspect was transferred to Pattaya Police’s Dongtan substation for further legal action. Locals say the man had shown signs of erratic behavior earlier in the day, frightening beachgoers and diners.   Concerns grow over aggressive behavior by some foreigners, with calls for stricter enforcement around Jomtien.
